Open Days are an ideal opportunity to get a flavour of a school but we always recommend touring the School on a normal working day.
For all admissions enquiries please contact Mrs Wendy Spencer on 01509 638280 or via firstname.lastname@example.org
For anyone considering joining Our Lady’s Convent School we recommend you visit one of our regular open days held during a normal working week, this is an ideal opportunity to meet the students and staff and see engaging learning in action. In addition to our regular open days, we have a Saturday open event in the Autumn term; we also welcome visits by arrangement, at a time to suit you.
Admission to Our Lady’s Convent School is straightforward and is designed to minimise stress for your son or daughter as they integrate into our family. To enable us to quickly identify how best to offer a stimulating and suitably challenging education for your son or daughter we need to establish the levels he or she currently achieves in work and behaviour.
We welcome boys and girls into our Reception class After parents have visited the Preparatory department with their son or daughter we invite the child to return to spend a taster morning or afternoon with us. This enables the child to settle in and experience life in the School and us to benchmark his or her current achievement and behaviour levels.
Boys and girls considering joining Years 1 to 6 of Our Lady’s Convent School share a ‘Taster Day’ with us. On successfully completing that we invite them to spend a second day with us; on this day various assessments will be carried out. Before a place can be offered a report from the current school is required to ensure we can be confident of providing for the needs of each individual child. Female Year 6 students of Our Lady’s Convent School are not required to sit the Senior School Entrance Assessment.
Entrance assessments are taken during the Spring Term for all pupils wishing to enter the School at either Year 7, 8, 9 or 10. In addition to the assessment a personal interview may be conducted. Girls wishing to take up places at any other times are required to submit a current report when attending an interview and will be assessed or required to sit an assessment. Entry into the Sixth Form is dependent upon ability and attitude together with a minimum of five GCSE passes at Grade C or Grade 4 or higher, a Headteacher’s report and personal interview. Some subjects may require higher grades for entry to A level.
If you have any questions please call the School on 01509 263901 or speak to Mrs Wendy Spencer, Admissions and Communications Officer on 01509 638280 to arrange a visit. We operate a rolling admission programme and may be able to accept your son or daughter throughout the School year. For more information on this please speak to Mrs Spencer.
