Dear Parents

Welcome to the new term. This is my last letter as Chairman of the Parents’ Association as my term of office comes to an end at the AGM. I have enjoyed my time as Chairman, and although I will be sad to step down, I welcome Julia Peters as the new Chairman, who will begin her two year term of office at the AGM. Julia will bring fresh blood and new ideas, so that the PA can continue to thrive. Jo Baker will become Vice Chair.

There are currently a number of vacancies. If any parents wish to join the committee please call me on 07712820140. All parents are invited to attend the AGM on Monday, 5th October at 7.00 pm. Wine will be provided and we all welcome your support. Please return the confirmation slip below.

I will be remaining on the Committee to continue to organise the Fashion Show which has proved so popular with both the girls and local businesses.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all my fellow committee members for their continuing support, and in particular Sharon Pratt who, by providing much closer links between the PA and the School, has enabled the PA to become a much more focused, successful and stronger Parents’ Association.

JUST A FEW DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:

• SATURDAY, 23rd JANUARY - SHOPPING TRIP TO BICESTER (Tickets £8)
• MONDAY, 22nd MARCH - FASHION SHOW
• SATURDAY, 22nd MAY - SPRING FAYRE

MORE INFORMATION AND BOOKING FORMS WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY.

Lastly, I would like to thank all parents for their continuing help. We couldn't manage without you.

Yours sincerely

LINDA LAMBERT JP

Dear Parents

Flu Pandemic:  In the light of the ongoing swine flu alert, we would like to assure parents that we are following Government guidance in early planning for an influenza pandemic and receive a daily update from the Independent Schools Council.  We ask for your support in the following ways.

  1. Ensure that your child is aware of hygiene procedures
  2. Let us know immediately if anyone in your family has been in contact with the disease
  3. Follow the NHS advice that someone who has recently travelled to Mexico and has flu-like symptoms should stay at home and contact either their GP or NHS Direct on 0845 4647
  4. Recognise the symptoms and ensure investigation. The symptoms of swine flu are broadly the same as those of ordinary flu, but may be more severe and cause more serious complications. The typical symptoms are: sudden fever, and sudden cough. Other symptoms may include: headache, tiredness, chills, aching muscles, limb or joint pain, diarrhoea or stomach upset, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, and loss of appetite.
  5. Check that all your contact details are up to date: pupils and their parents, legal guardians or other emergency contacts, if relevant
  6. Register for ParentMail® as in the event of closure work will be sent out by email.
